Patricia Jean Rafferty Parr, 77, passed away on July 3rd, 2022 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born in Nashville, Tennessee on December 11, 1944, the daughter of Francis Xavier and Louise Summerford Rafferty. She was raised in Martinsburg, West Virginia and graduated from Martinsburg High School in 1963. In 1967, she accepted a position as a secretary for the CIA and moved to Berlin, Germany. While in Berlin, she met her husband of 53 years, Joe Parr, a military police officer assigned to the CIA. Harold “Rip” Eugene Beaver, Jr, passed away on July 3, 2022, at the age of 58, at his home in Buford, Georgia after his fight with cancer.

Carolyn loved animals, and was a volunteer for the Islands Feral Cat Project. She cared for many feral cats, until her death she was caring for 20 feral cats. A lifelong resident of Wilmington Island, Nancy was born on June 25, 1950. After a few years of traveling into Thunderbolt to attend Elementary, Nancy was one of the original children to attend May Howard Elementary School.

She passed away peacefully, at the age of 96, on August 18, 2022 in Savannah, Georgia. Louis Franklin Umsted Jr. age 93, of Savannah, Georgia, formerly of Hinsdale, Illinois, died peacefully on September 12th 2022, making his last flight to his Lord. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Peggy, married for 67 years. Devoted father of Nancy Sullivan, Eric Umsted and Jennifer Umsted McKinley.
William “Bill” Ohlis Plunkett Jr., of Savannah, GA, reached the shores of Heaven on May 12, 2022. Bill was born on September 30, 1942 to the late Roberta Finn Plunkett and William Ohlis Plunkett Sr. His parents were married for 9 years prior to his birth and were overjoyed at the arrival of their first child and only son. Roberta fondly referred to him as her lucky penny.

He was born November 21, 1943 to the late Jacob Randolph Gooding and Ermadese Smiley Gooding. Randy was a longtime resident of Savannah and most recently lived in Richmond Hill at Bryan County Health and Rehab. He was a founding member of Southside Baptist Church. He was an alum of Armstrong State College, worked as a manager at Georgia Pacific, as well as an accountant for other business’ in downtown Savannah.
His early life was spent growing up with his 3 brothers and 3 sisters in rural Iowa where he attended a one room school house until high school. Upon entering high school, a neighboring county recruited him to play on their baseball team.
